The Busser / Barback plays a vital support role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked restaurant and bar environment. This position works closely with servers, bartenders, hosts, and management to ensure smooth daily operations and efficient service.
The Busser / Barback is responsible for supporting front-of-house and bar operations through table maintenance, stocking supplies, cleanliness, food and beverage support, and guest assistance. Success in this role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, teamwork, and a sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly and efficiently.
Pre-bus tables throughout service by removing used dishes, glassware, and clutter.
Sweep and maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and guest-facing spaces.
Empty trash and recycling containers as needed.
Assist servers with food delivery and table maintenance.
Refill guest beverages when requested and approved by management.
Support hosts and servers in managing guest flow and maintaining service standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and storage areas.
Respond promptly to guest needs and requests while providing courteous service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies.
Assist with inventory counts, bar pulls, and product replenishment.
Properly label, date, store, and rotate products according to food safety standards.
Prepare garnishes, fruits, mixers, and house-made recipes as required.
Assist bartenders with opening, closing, and side work duties.
Put away beverage and supply deliveries while maintaining organized storage areas.
Clean bar surfaces, glassware, equipment, and workstations regularly.
Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.
Follow all sanitation, safety, and company policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and managers.
Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Anticipate operational and guest needs and provide proactive support.
Assist in resolving guest concerns by communicating issues promptly to management.
Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
Contribute to a positive team environment focused on hospitality and guest satisfaction.
