The Prep Cook / Dishwasher is a key member of the kitchen team responsible for supporting food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. This position combines food preparation duties with dishwashing and kitchen maintenance responsibilities to help deliver high-quality food and a safe, organized working environment.

Prepare ingredients, recipes, and menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
Properly label, date, cover, and store prepared food items in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Set up, stock, and break down prep stations and kitchen equipment.
Assist with food assembly and order preparation as directed.
Read and accurately follow kitchen tickets, production sheets, and kitchen display systems.
Monitor product quality and ensure all prepared items meet presentation and portion standards.
Assist with special orders, large parties, catering requests, and re-cook procedures as needed.
Rotate products using First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory practices to maintain freshness.
Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dish room.
Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the shift.
Clean and sanitize workstations, floors, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.
Assist with general kitchen cleaning and maintenance duties.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Stock supplies, products, and ingredients as needed throughout the shift.
Communicate effectively and professionally with kitchen staff, managers, and front-of-house team members.
Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Support team members and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Previous restaurant, kitchen, food preparation, or dishwashing experience preferred.
Food Handler Certification may be required based on state or local regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
